a little secret about me...

I love the smell of books and I'm no ashamed to admit I enjoy a good whiff every now and then.

Music: World's End Press

From the first moment I saw these guys in little old Rocket Bar, I fell in love. I'll admit I'm not usually into this type of music, I dont quite even know how to describe it other than 'Amazingly Funky', but as soon as they walked on stage the crowd was alert.
Not only are they supremely dressed, but once you hear their music, you cant help but smile and dance.
World's End Press truly make me happy on the inside. So much so that I spent the ENTIRE next day with their songs on repeat and dancing like a spastick.
Best band in Australia? I think so!

These are some cool mother fuckers thats for sure!!

Cardigan of the Week: Alex Turner

Just keeping in theme with Arctic Monkeys obsession, here's a cheeky little snapshot of A. Turner for Cardigan of the Week.
And by god does he look ravishing!

Oh my gosh, I have been waiting for this album for sooooooo long!! As soon as I heard rumours about the album, thats all I could think about.
AND NOW ITS HERE!!
ok so I have been streaming the album via the Arctic Monkeys website for the past week, but its just SO much better to have the real thing in your hands. (ps. The most beautiful album cover/package I've ever seen)

These guys are genius and I will love them forever.

Cardigan of the Week: Guy from Sputnik

His name was Carlos if I'm not mistaken... He too enjoyed a good cardigan, especially ones with a vintage pattern. I promised him he'd be Cardigan of the Week, so here he is... 6 months later...

Lipstick: Paul and Joe

I WANT THIS SO BADLY!!!

Cardigan of the Week: Mary-Kate Olsen

Mary-Kate takes oversize cardigans to a whole new level! One which I am completely jealous of and want to be with her on.

Being a rebel: Tattoo

It all started around 6 months ago when I was joking around with my friend about us getting tattoos and being rebellious. It became a regular joke to us when we went out drinking; however somewhere along the way we thought 'yeah, lets actually do this!' not thinking that either of us would ACTUALLY go ahead with it.
But when my friend rang me and said she had booked us an appointment, well it was time to start designing. STILL not believing that we'd go through with the tattoo (seeing as I am a huge wuss and cant even handle injections and such) the day came, and I came up with my final design that morning.
I was nominated to go first as I was most likely to freak out and possibly die over the event. As it turned out the tattoo did not hurt and I stayed calm the whole time (I was holding tightly onto the hand of some guy getting a tattoo in the chair next to mine...) I LOVE IT!!

Here it is: "il est l'amour" (french for "He is love")

Books: Shiver

"I felt like things were getting away from me. I'd found heaven and grabbed it as tightly as I could, but it was unravelling, an insubstancial thread sliding between my fingers, too fine to hold."
This is without a doubt my favourite book ever written. Everything about it simply stunning. The cover, perfect; The words, poetry; The story, devastatingly beautiful.

I will admit that I got far too emotionally involved in the love story between Sam and Grace, so much so that I spent most of my time crying, even once I had finished the book.
Stiefvater introduced me to the heartbreaking words of Rilke, with which I have developed a love affair.

The second instalment to Stiefvater's 'Wolves of Mercy Falls' trilogy, Linger, is equally as beautiful. Watch the trailer, music composed artwork created by Stiefvater herself... genius!

Words: Der Dichter (The Poet)

What then would I do with my lips?
With my night?
With my day?
I have no lover, No house,
No spot in which I live

 - Rainer Maria Rilke

Music: Lykke Li

Actually in love with Lykke Li. Possibly the most beautiful and intriguing woman I have ever seen and heard. Her music is artwork which intoxicates you with so much emotion, that you cant help but be swept up in a Lykke Li daze for the rest of the day.
